Velingrad, the spa capital of the Balkans
Velingrad is one of Bulgaria’s best-known spa towns. Its mineral springs, the quiet of the Western Rhodope mountains and hotels with pools and wellness centres draw guests all year round, and more and more companies choose the town for meetings, training days and team-building away from the city. For an international guest, the stay should feel effortless from the moment they walk out of the arrivals hall.
There is no direct train or bus from Sofia Airport to Velingrad. Public transport means changing in Sofia or Pazardzhik and takes considerably longer than a transfer. Sofia Airport to Velingrad: the route
From Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 we take the ring road and the Trakia motorway towards Plovdiv. Past Pazardzhik and Septemvri we turn south onto the road along the Chepinska river via Varvara and climb up to Velingrad. The last stretch runs through the river gorge, so the chauffeur drives calmly and carefully, especially in winter. If you like, we stop for coffee on the way.

From Plovdiv to Velingrad it is about 85 km and 1 h 30 min, from €77 per car and from €99 per minivan. From Plovdiv Airport we charge the same as from the city. This works well if there is a suitable flight to Plovdiv, or if you have business in Plovdiv or the Thrace Economic Zone first and then continue to a spa weekend or company event in Velingrad.

The return trip and travel during your stay
Most guests book the return together with the outbound trip: the car is waiting outside your hotel in Velingrad at the agreed time and takes you to Sofia Airport, Plovdiv Airport or an address in town. For a flight from Sofia Airport we plan the departure so you are at the terminal at least 2 hours before take-off. We confirm the price of the return when you book.
