Bansko without buses or changes
Bansko is Bulgaria’s largest ski resort, and during the season thousands of guests land at Sofia Airport. Buses run to a timetable and leave you at the bus station, from where you need another taxi to the hotel. The route
From Sofia Airport we take the ring road and the Struma motorway south, then continue via Simitli and Razlog to Bansko. The road is well maintained, and the last part runs through the mountains, so in snow the chauffeur drives carefully and allows more time. If you like, we stop for coffee on the way.
Skis, snowboards and luggage
Skis and snowboards take up space, so tell us when booking how many pairs and what bags you have. Two people with skis usually fit in a sedan; for three or four we recommend a minivan or Mercedes V-Class, and for a group with lots of equipment a van. If you are renting equipment at the resort, you travel with suitcases only and can choose a smaller car.
Winter road conditions
In winter the chauffeur checks the forecast and road conditions before every trip. In heavy snow we leave earlier and allow more time, and if your flight home is early in the morning we plan the departure with a margin. The price is fixed when you book and does not change if the drive takes longer.

Most ski guests book the return together with the outbound trip: you know the price both ways and the car waits outside your hotel on departure day. If during the week you want to visit another resort, a spa or a restaurant outside the resort, we provide a car with a chauffeur for the day.
The season in Bansko
The ski season in Bansko usually runs from mid-December to early April. The busiest times are Christmas, New Year and Saturdays in January and February, when hotel guests change over. For those dates we recommend booking your transfer early. Outside winter we drive guests to Bansko for festivals, conferences and mountain holidays.
